- Before using AI, you need to lay the groundwork to make the tool work for you – otherwise you will waste time and money.
- AI cannot be a replacement for learning about the market and how to make yourself indispensable to customers.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve seen my prediction from last year about the explosion of AI (artificial intelligence) into the popular culture come true.
Everyone is talking about it, from the nightly news to my mom.
One of the big drivers of this public awareness is the Chat GPT bot, available from Open AI.
Kids are using it to cheat on papers and others are using it to create blog posts and sales copy.
It’s like a magical “oracle” on the other side of the screen and keyboard.
Chat GPT can answer your questions and complete seemingly impossible tasks for a computer.
It reminds me of a line from the 2nd Harry Potter book
“Never trust anything that can think for itself if you can’t see where it keeps its brains.”
Here’s something I want you to burn into your brain:
AI like Chat GPT is a disruptor. It is NOT a rule changer.
Just like the DOTCOM bubble… or the real estate bubble… or the stock market bubble… or any other bubble…
As soon as you hear someone say the old rules don’t apply anymore, you need to run like hell!
AI is a tool. It will help you do things faster, easier, cheaper… in some cases, better than you could do them yourself.
However, if you don’t have an avatar… a business plan… a purpose… and all the other things a real business has, AI is just a “shiny new object” and nothing more.
· AI is not a business.
· AI is not a magic tool that will make money appear in your bank account.
· AI is not a replacement for knowing who your ideal customer is and what they want.
· AI is not an excuse to stop thinking or learning about what’s going on in your market and how you can make yourself indispensable to them.
Here’s the magic question to ask about any AI tool you see between now and the day you either hang up your business for good… or they put you in the ground.
Ready? Here it is:
How will this tool help me get more leads, make more sales, or build stronger relationships with my idea customers?
If the answer isn’t instantly clear, you’re wasting your time.
You either haven’t laid the groundwork to make the tool work for you… or the tool is rubbish.
Either way, you’ve lost time and money you’ll never get back!
AI is here… but the rules have not changed!

I started using it as a strategy for research and seeing where eyes are going and where money is being spent.
Ai will further drive a need for a human connection which invariably will make for a larger gap in many industries. Time to use both and capitalize
