😀Haters Gonna Hate!😬

I want to talk to you about something that I think bothers a lot of people: haters!

Otherwise known as trolls, asshats, jerks, idiots or dingdongs on Facebook or other social media.😵😠😱😬😦

I get this all the time. You’ll get haters no matter what you do, no matter what you share, no matter what you say, no matter what you write, no matter what videos you make, no matter how much value give… you’re going to get haters.😇

Fact is, the more you do, especially when you’re out there trying to make a difference in the world sharing your opinion and your experience, there are people who won’t like you.👺

Now some of them are just unhappy and love to revel in their unhappiness. Others are psychotic, which is fine, that’s their right. There’s medication for that. 💊

But there is also a small group of people who just love to be nasty. 😠 Understand that fact right now and get over it! It makes life easier to accept the fact that some people are just jerks, especially online.

Now, what’s the difference between a hater and somebody actually giving you feedback? 💡

I’ve said for years “Love me, hate me, there’s no money in the middle!” 😍💰

But there are cases where you might think somebody’s being a hater, where in their mind they think they’re actually trying to help you. This is where you’ve got to be careful. Sometimes you post something and people just want to get in their 2 cents, especially if a lot of others are reacting to your post.

🔃 If they tell you you’re wrong, you have to make a decision whether you’re going to take it as feedback or throw them out of your party on their ear!

You need to just need a set of rules with which you operate. Now my rules are pretty simple. If you’re nasty to me or if you launch a personal attack over something I posted then I’m going to ban you or publicly ridicule you… or publicly ridicule you and then ban you. 🚯

Understand this: you make your own rules as to what constitutes feedback or somebody actually just being a hater. But, the biggest thing I’ve seen that derails people is actually listening to the haters and letting them dictate your behavior. You can’t do that. You can’t let negative people dictate what you’re going to do. Now, if they give you feedback that makes sense – then it’s feedback and you take it for what it’s worth. 👍

But you can’t let these people discourage you. You can’t let these people stop you from moving forward with your business. You can’t let these people have their way. They’re nasty, they’re unhappy and they are just trying to drag everybody else down with them. You’ve got to have the courage to ignore them. 🐦

Now here’s something funny to think about. As you’re trying to expand yourself, the vast majority of people are going to be very positive and supportive. The problem is we as people will see 99 encouraging messages, get one jackass comment, and then focus in on the jackass instead of the 99 that say it’s cool. 😥

When it comes to the super haters, just ignore them, just block them. 🚷

But here’s the double-edged sword. With your new found power to flip the bird to people who are trolling you, you must avoid inadvertently shutting yourself off from actual feedback and criticism that’s going help you to get better. 😓

Sometimes when you see those 99 positives, and then you get that one person who says, “Well you know, actually you’re not right and here’s why.”

Our first instinct is to say, “Oh, well screw them.” But that one person might be the one who actually helps you get better. They might be telling you the truth! 🔨

You’ve got to find that balance. ⚖

So let’s wrap this up.

First, the biggest thing I would tell you is don’t let true haters and trolls discourage you. 💌

Second, make sure you take everything you get just as feedback. Don’t get emotional about it. 😂

Third, have an opinion, share your opinion, and stick with your opinion. However, if somebody presents you with a legitimate case that would cause you to modify your opinion, then just take it on board. 😀

Don’t take any of this personally, especially on social media. Don’t let the haters stop you. Go do what you’re supposed to do and share your message with the world!😍
