These are really great ideas! Thanks for sharing. I like the idea that it’s a checklist and I can keep track of the ones I am using.

Another great “paid” component of reaching your target market is by “re-targeting” whether it’s with Facebook or using re-targeting pixels. Great post Jim, thx!

Derek – Thank you… I’l admit, my knowledge on re-targeting is not good… but I can see it’s a keeper and needs to be added to the list!

    Hello from beautiful Montana,

Jim, thanks so much for this checklist. Like many scattered writers (a finger in many pies) we need checklists and systems in order to succeed.

This will be helpful to decice which tasks to do myself and which to outsource.

Have a great day, Judy Helm Wright aka “Auntie Artichoke”

I didn’t see Pinterest on your “Free” list. It’s easy to use and it can boost your page rank on google (organic). It is timr consuming but not more than the other options.

  • Jim, this really is good! I’m going to pass it on to my mastermind group.

One more thing you might put on your Paid advertising list is Youtube. You have it listed under the Free advertisement list, but it can also be added under the paid category and right now, ads on Youtube are very inexpensive (depending on what type of ad you decide to run).

I just said to an associate yesterday, you can pinpoint your demographic so specifically with ads on youtube and you don’t have to pay for the adv if someone doesn’t watch a portion of the first 30 seconds of your adv (e.g. your video is 60 seconds and someone only watches the first 29 seconds and clicks away from it. In that case you don’t pay for the adv). I told my associate, you can pinpoint your adv such that you only want it viewed by one eyed green flies that have one wing and only fly in the rain on sunny days (That’s an exaggeration but you get my gist :))

Thanks again for the list. Just a FYI, you sent a message out a week or so ago, asking if there was an interest in a product you were considering developing. I signed up for it and I’m still waiting for the outcome 🙂 My mama told me many years ago, when someone is ready to offer you money, depending on what they want you to do for it, reach out and accept it 🙂 …

Another free (and time consuming) option is to participate in discussion forums relevant to your business and include your promotional links in your signature.
