How Do You Get People to Sign Up for Your List and Use Your Lead Magnet?

“Jim, how do I get people who sign up for my list to consume the lead magnet that I used to get them to sign up?”

I find this question interesting!

There are two schools of thought when it comes to lead magnets:

#1 You shouldn’t worry about whether anybody consumes the lead magnet or not!

#2 You should try and get them to consume the lead magnet!

Which camp am I in? 

Over the years, I’ve discovered that BOTH lines of thinking have some value.

I actually like the middle ground and try to take advantage of both lines of thought!

When somebody signs up for your lead magnet, you should make an offer on the confirmation page. This covers you if they don’t consume the lead magnet.

Within the lead magnet, you should lead them back to your main offer as well.

People Love To Sign Up For Almost Everything. 

In most cases, the act of signing up satisfies the need that was raised by you making an offer.

It goes something like this:

Hey! I have this problem, and I want this offer. So, I’m going to sign up! As soon as I click that button, I’ll feel like I’ve done something to solve my problem.

I know it sounds weird, but it’s the way people act. This is why you need to make an offer on the confirmation page.

How Can You Increase Your Chances of Something Good Happening?

We all ask ourselves this. It is challenging to get people who sign up for your list to actually consume the content.

However, you can increase your chances of a positive result by:

#1 Making a powerful promise!

No matter what you’re offering, the lead magnet needs to have a powerful promise.

#2 Make it easy!

If you want to have any chance of your subscribers getting a good result and actually using the information you’ve shared with them, you’ve got to make it easy for them.

#3 Help them get a quick result!

Your audience needs an IMMEDIATE result with little effort. If you can do this, they will continue to follow you and buy from you!

Bonus Tip

This is a numbers game. You have to drive traffic… Test your promise… and Track what kind of results you get.

Make your lead magnet as effective as possible. Use these 4 tips to accomplish that:

  1. Make a powerful promise
  2. Make an easy-to-consume lead magnet
  3. Keep it simple
  4. Provide them with an immediate result
