Are you an entrepreneur who needs to get things done?
Does it feel like you’re ‘forcing it’ in your business?
Let me tell you a story about when we were redoing Funnel Scripts for the third time.
It was a lot of work.
I’d spent the entire summer on this project. Ultimately, I had to redo 50 instructional videos.
I told myself, ‘I’ll do all 50 videos in five days!’
But I made a HUGE mistake!
I didn’t consider all the time it would take me to redo all the files that went with the videos.
So, I started forcing it.
‘Forcing It?’
‘Forcing it’ means you don’t want to do the work, but you do it anyway.
This often happens when you want to get something done as fast as possible.
I believe that when you start forcing it, you’re just doing it for the sake of doing it.
This leads to BAD results!
Forcing things will make you:
- Miss important information
- Not give your best
- End up with an awful result
When You Force Things, You Get Tired!
So, when I ended up too tired after doing only 10 videos, I changed my strategy.
I took a day off to clear my mind.
When I got back to the task, I got done in two hours the work that previously took me 10 hours!
The takeaway here is that sometimes you need to really bear down and get stuff done.
But other times, if you’re ‘forcing it,’ you will probably get tired fast.
You won’t think about how much time it will take you to get it done properly.
You won’t consider related tasks that also take up time.
Conclusion
Entrepreneurs like you and I can get caught “under the gun” more often than we’d like to admit.
If you take time to plan out what you have to do, this won’t happen as often. That said, sometimes even when we plan, we don’t do it well enough. This, too, can lead to us “forcing it.”
My advice is:
- Don’t EVER force it!
- Pay attention to results!
- Give it 100% effort!
- Sometimes the MOST productive thing you can do is sleep on it and then get back into action.
