How To Make “Failure = Success”

(Or, How To Win In Every Situation!)

A wise person once said, “Fail fast!”

That means you need to figure out if what you’re doing is gonna work or not as fast as you can.

If it works, you’ll keep doing it.

If it doesn’t work, you STOP as fast as you can.

No emotional baggage. No fear. No dragging crap out for weeks, months and years.

And, the key (at least for me) to this process of failing fast comes down to this 2 step process that always makes “failure = success!”

STEP #1 – Define Your Success Ahead Of Time

It’s easy to fail if you don’t know what success looks like.

When you do something new or different, tie your success to you taking ACTION rather than getting a perfect result on the first try.

Example:

GOOD: I’ll be successful at this new content marketing campaign I’m starting if I consistently take action every day for 30 minutes and tick every box on my promotion checklist with each post. (Specific and 100% controlled by you)

BAD: I’ll be successful at this new content marketing campaign I’m starting if I make at least $100,000 the first week. (Specific, but probably unrealistic)

UGLY: I’ll be successful at this new content marketing campaign I’m starting if I make a bunch of money and get a bunch of clicks. (Vague and 100% outside of your control)

STEP #2 – Make Every Outcome “Failure = Success”

The key to this second step is to set yourself up to where you can’t lose!

Literally, you make failure = success.

The most famous example is Thomas Edison who “failed” 10,000 times trying to invent the light bulb.

When asked how he endured all that failure he replied, “I didn’t fail. I just figured out 9,999 ways NOT to create a light bulb!”

Here’s a formula you can use to create a no-lose outcome for yourself in any situation:

“By doing this _____, at the very least I will _______, and I may just _____ in the process!”

Example: By doing this new content marketing campaign, at the very least I will get better and creating value every day, and I may just figure out a whole new marketing channel for my business in the process!

Example: By doing this new marketing funnel, at the very least I will get a deeper understanding of what my audience will or won’t buy, and I may just create an entirely new income stream in the process!

The bottom line here is that no matter what you’re doing, the first time won’t be perfect. Or the second. Or the third.

And that’s why most people quit, or worse, never even get started.

Don’t be like most people!
