A Note From Jim
Perseverance
The world is pretty crazy right now. There’s a lot of change going on, and there’s more change on the way.
There’s a lot of stuff you’re going to do that’s going to work and there’s a lot of stuff you’re going to try that’s not going to work. But the people who, in tough times are those who persevere, are the ones who come out on top. They’re the people who don’t give up. Success comes to those who never stop until they find a way to hit their goal.
Here’s something else: I don’t believe the world will go back to what it was before the virus. Too much has happened in the last few weeks; some horizons have expanded and weaknesses have been exposed in business and in life. Nothing is going to change back to what it was before.
So during these times, the single greatest quality we can develop is perseverance. We want to keep going in the face of any adversity. Doing this will be important not only in the coming weeks, but in the coming years.
The #1 thing you can do to persevere is to develop the muscle to not give up. When you make a decision to do something, stick with it! You must be determined to take it all the way to fruition. As my buddy Stew Smith says, “Get comfortable being uncomfortable.”
