Reinventing Yourself: 3 Insights Every Entrepreneur Needs
If you want to experience a change in your life so you can reach your goals and deepest desires, I’ve got a few insights for you that I hope will help you on your journey.
Insight #1 – Change Is Scary for People Who Love Us
Most people in your life want you to stay where you are and be predictable. Change, especially as a person, makes the people around you very nervous (because you might not need them anymore if you do change).
People who care about us don’t want us to change. They don’t want us to get hurt, or disappointed, or harmed. They’re also scared we will leave them behind because, right or wrong, when we change, we will definitely leave them behind (in their minds).
Unfortunately, other than tell them not worry and demonstrate that you still love them, there’s not much you can do to dissuade them.
Insights #2 – You Can’t Change Your Life Until You Change Yourself
Change in humans all starts in the brain. Everything you see and experience (and your perception of it) happens inside your head.
If you want a new reality in your external world (business growth, relationships, more money, lose weight, etc.) you must first change what goes on in that 8-inch space between your ears.
Insights #3 – All Change Starts with A Decision… BUT Ends with Commitment to NEVER Quit
All change starts with a decision to have, be, or do something different than what you have now. However, just because you made a decision doesn’t mean the world will deliver in an instant (otherwise we’d all have our new year’s resolutions parked in the driveway of our new house already).
Besides making a decision, you must make a commitment to see that decision through to the end, no matter what! If you quit, the change you want will never materialize. As a side note, quitting will also reinforce the idea within you that you can’t change (which makes future efforts even more difficult).
If you want to make a real change in your life, follow these 5 steps to get anything you want:
- Decide exactly WHAT you want.
- Get very clear on WHY you want this change.
- Believe you can have it in your life.
- Have Faith that the change will appear in good time.
- Take massive, thoughtful, consistent Action to make the change reality.
The big takeaway here is that you can embrace the change you want in your life if you’re willing to defy the expectations of people around you and do what you need to do it make it happen!
