A Note From Jim

Great Content Marketing Begins and Ends With This

Great Content Marketing Begins and Ends With ThisA lot of folks think content marketing is hard and it’s impossible to rise above all the online noise and competition.

Actually, nothing could be further from the truth. Here’s why I say that…

People hold this belief because they have tried “content marketing” in the past by posting articles to their blog, videos to Facebook, and maybe a few tweets… and they didn’t get any real results.

I understand exactly why they feel that way!

When I first got started online, I felt like I was living in a vacuum.

I was putting stuff on my website, but I had no idea whether anyone was even paying attention.

By the way, this was before the phrase “content marketing” was even invented.

Let me share with you why I don’t think that anymore…

I just took a leap of faith and started sharing content with people on my site and on my (TINY) list of subscribers.

I took it on faith that if I put value out into the universe, it would come back to me many times over. I wasn’t sure when, where, or how, but I knew if I put out truly outstanding content, I would attract the right people for me.

I finally realized a simple fact: if I hold my ideal customer avatar at the forefront of my business, add value to their lives, we’ll automatically attract the people we want who will follow us, buy from us, and become repeat customers.

Fast forward to today and here’s how things have changed:

  • All our content is intended to either create a lead, sell something, and / or strengthen our relationships with existing customers and subscribers.
  • By consistently doing everything in our business with that filter in place, our list grows, our sale multiply, our customers love us, and out content marketing is 100% effective.
  • Our overall level of fun, satisfaction, and profitability is through the roof!

How does all this impact your business… why should you care?

This is important to you because it means intentionally creating value for your target audience on a consistent basis (without getting hung up on an immediate outcome) will bring success with content marketing.

It’s the exact same principle that if you want heat from a wood stove, you first have to put in some wood.

You must first put in the value for your target audience in the form of valuable content if you want to receive value from them in return.
